The format of this page is a little different than others in the Kansas Photo Tour. It's based on the Butler County Bridge Tour pamphlet available from the contact listed above. If you intend to visit the bridges yourself, here are a couple things to keep in mind: The tour begins at the west edge of El Dorado just east of the Kansas Turnpike exit #71, and covers about 140 miles. All roads are suitable for a carefully driven passenger car during dry weather. Most of the bridges are posted with " No Trespassing " signs. Observe these bridges from the right-of-way. A few of the bridges are not posted, and have pretty well worn paths leading to a better view. Since there is no sign of freshly dug graves, you can probably assume, as the Flatlander did, that it's OK to slip down and take a gander--but I didn't tell you this. Make sure you have plenty of gas, since some of these bridges are out in the Toolies.
With all this in mind, you may begin the photo tour by Clicking Here.

You'll see this at most of the bridges on the tour. Please respect the rights of the property owners, and observe the bridges from the right-of-way. If this isn't enough deterrence, Butler County is also the Poison Ivy Capitol of Kansas, in my opinion.
