rockcitysd3.jpg (9444 bytes)Rock City is located on a ridge overlooking the Solomon River valley and is a very scenic area.  The boulders were formed of Dakota Sandstone by a process known as concretion.  This occurred millions of years ago while Kansas was covered by an inland sea.  What makes this small area so unique is the size of rocks and their number.
