The 10 ton, 35 feet high burr oak sculpture is the creation of Peter Wolf Toth. He intends to eventually have one in each state. Collectively they are known as the "Trail of the Whispering Giants". The craftsmanship and detail of his work is quite impressive.

The Courthouse, built in 1906, is very ornate in itself. It and all of the 105 Courthouses in Kansas are featured on the website "The Bullet Trap". Click on the link, and go to the Courthouse Tour section.
