The
Topeka Zoo, located in Gage Park, is an excellent zoo. Zoos
have come a long ways since the days when animals were kept in steel cages.
The Topeka Zoo has been quite progressive in updating it's animal displays.
The zoo is forever updating and expanding and has been nationally recognized.
These
birds and the little crocodile are inhabitants of the zoo's
Tropical Rain Forest exhibit. The birds fly freely overhead and sometimes
perch just feet away.
There
are numerous other animals on display here as well. For
most of us, zoos are the only place we will ever have the opportunity to view
wildlife such as giraffes, lions and gorillas. This zoo has all these and
more in modern and educational displays.
Throughout
this clean and well kept zoo flowers bloom in season.
