Kansas Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Location: Downtown Junction City in the park at 6th and Washington Streets. Follow the signs.
A
simple black granite wall bears the names of the over 700 Kansans
who were killed or listed as Missing in Action during the Vietnam War.
This is a visible reminder of a painful and controversial chapter in our
Nation's history.

The ghostly figures of two soldiers stare back at the visitor from the wall. A simple, yet powerful, monument to a time which is painful for many to remember, but one that we dare not forget.
A few lines from the poem inscribed on the monument below the names:
...And in that time
when men decide , and feel safe
to call the war insane
take one moment to embrace
those gentle heroes
you left behind...
